Terms of Service
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms cover Cutaway, a free, open-source tool (MIT license) that cuts a night of game recordings into a short vertical video and, if you choose, publishes it to accounts you connect: YouTube, X, and TikTok through TikTok's official Content Posting API. It is also the tool behind the Cassidy Darkstar channels. Other Clawdioslave apps have their own terms on their own pages.
What Cutaway does
Cutaway runs on your own computer. It reads video files you point it at, builds a new video, and uploads that video to an account you have connected, with the caption and settings you pick. It posts only videos you choose, and it posts nothing until you run the command or approve the post.
Your accounts and your content
- You connect each platform yourself by signing in on that platform's own page and approving access. Cutaway never asks for or sees your password.
- You are responsible for what you post: you must own it or have the rights to it, including any music, and it must follow the rules of the platform you post to, including the TikTok Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- If a video promotes a brand, product or service, you must say so with the platform's disclosure setting. On TikTok that means turning on the content disclosure setting before posting.
- Game footage belongs to its publisher. Follow the publisher's video policy for anything you record.
Platform limits
Each platform decides what it accepts. TikTok, for example, caps how many posts an account can publish through any app each day, and may hold a post as private until the app has passed TikTok's review. Cutaway shows what the platform allows and does not try to get around it.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect at any time. For TikTok: open TikTok, go to Settings and privacy, then Security and permissions,
then Apps and services permissions, and remove Cutaway. You can also run revoke in the tool, which cancels the
access token and deletes it from your computer. See the privacy policy for what is stored.
No warranty
Cutaway is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, as stated in its MIT license. To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any damages from using it, including lost posts, rejected uploads, or account actions taken by a platform.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use Cutaway after a change means you accept it.
