Privacy Policy
Effective: August 21, 2026
JWKR is built so that we could not read your data even if we wanted to. The app has no server of its own, no accounts, and no analytics. It makes exactly three kinds of outbound request, all described below: Apple's map services, a public opening-hours lookup, and a public sports-schedule lookup. None carries anything that identifies you.
What we collect
Nothing. JWKR collects no personal data, and we have no servers to collect it to.
Opening hours
When you plan a trip, JWKR asks the public OpenStreetMap Overpass API for the published opening hours of businesses in that city. That request contains a geographic bounding box for the destination and nothing else: no name, no device identifier, no profile, no indication of which specific places you're interested in. It happens once per destination and is cached for the session. If it fails or you're offline, the app falls back to its own category estimates and works normally. Overpass is operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation under their privacy policy.
Sports schedules
A stadium is only worth visiting when there's a game on, so when a board or plan includes a sports venue JWKR asks ESPN's public scoreboard endpoints which fixtures fall in that date range. The request contains a league and a range of dates and nothing else: no name, no device identifier, no profile, no location, and no indication of which venue you were looking at. Results are cached for the session, and if the lookup fails or you're offline the app simply doesn't mention any games. These requests go to ESPN under their privacy policy.
What stays on your device
Your taste profile (questionnaire answers and how they evolve), your trips and routes, and your private post-visit reviews are stored only in the app's local storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. They are included in your own device backups according to your iOS settings.
Location
If you grant location access, it is used once per request to center the map and measure distances on your device. Location is never stored by JWKR and never leaves your device through us. The app is fully functional without location access.
Apple services
Maps, place search, geocoding, and directions are provided by Apple's MapKit and Core Location system services. Those requests go to Apple and are governed by Apple's privacy policy. JWKR sends them no identity information. It has none to send.
Shared routes
Sharing a route creates a small file or link containing only place names, coordinates, and suggested durations. No identity, no profile data, nothing about you. It travels only through channels you choose (Messages, AirDrop, and so on).
Private reviews
Reviews you write in JWKR are never published, uploaded, or visible to anyone else. They exist solely to tune recommendations on your device.
Children
JWKR does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children. It collects no data at all.
Changes
If a future version ever changes any of the above (for example, adding an optional sync feature), this policy will be updated first and the change clearly disclosed in the App Store notes.
